Every job is unique, so this process can be modified based on your needs. We just want you to know what a standard JJS Design & Build process looks like.

We are happy to work with designers and architects, or the client directly. Being flexible, attentive, and providing a stress-free experience is what we pride ourselves on.

Meet and Greet

Every project starts with a complimentary consultation with Joe Kolencik, JJS Owner, and Lead Architect. In the initial consultation you can expect Joe to:

• Get to know you, your style, and what you are looking for
• Check out your space
• Understand your budget
• Get basic measurements for preliminary pricing

Initial Quote

You will receive a general estimate based on what you and Joe discussed. This will give you an idea of whether JJS can meet your target investment. If you like what you see, we can then proceed with the design.

Introduce the Design

Considering the information discussed in the initial meet and greet, we will put together a fully customized design concept for you. This will include preliminary plans, furniture sketches, and conceptual design drawings concentrated on your vision. These plans lay the groundwork for the project, with no detail overlooked.

Give Us the Go Ahead

Once the design concept has been signed off on, we will move forward with:

• Design approval. No need to worry, this does not make the plan set in stone. You can always make changes later.
• Firming up the design details and provide refined pricing. This figure will include all materials and labor associated with the project.
• We will collaborate with your designer, architect, or you on the start date and project schedule.

Let’s Get to Work

Now that we locked in the plan, the transition to your dream space can begin!

• We will secure any permits and city approvals
• Hire subcontractors
• Get started on building any custom cabinetry & furniture
• Start demolition of space
• Construct and build according to the plan

Welcome to Your New Space

The project is now complete, but this new relationship continues. Your happiness is our #1 priority!

• We will do a thorough cleaning to ensure that there is no leftover dust
• Meet with you for a final walk-through to make sure you love what you see
• Create a punch list to determine and execute any final details.
